Our Team
Created and run by teachers, Student Compass Consulting is a network of educators, therapists and special education experts. Our mission is to develop your child’s confidence in the classroom and identify as a lifelong learner. With over 30 years of combined experience in the Washington, DC school system, we’re here to help you make the best decision for your child’s education and provide the support that your family needs to successfully navigate the challenges of in-person and remote learning.
Our Services
At Student Compass Consulting we believe in supporting children and parents through all aspects of their educational journey. From choosing a school for your child, to addressing emotional or learning needs, we have a team that can assist every step of the way.
Virtual learning support sessions
We know that balancing work and virtual learning presents a variety of challenges. We are here to help your child get organized, answer questions about assignments, and stay on track to ensure that assignments are completed and submitted on time.
special education support
From the early stages of your child’s evaluation through the potential development of an individual education program “IEP”, we can support you during this stressful and often emotional time. We will provide the knowledge and tools to understand the complex process and the confidence to advocate for your child along the way. Once your child has received their IEP our team is there to help you support their goals at home.
Tutoring
We offer tutoring services to support subject areas, develop literacy skills, or provide your child with opportunities to be challenged. We are able to work with students individually or if you have a group of children that would like to work together, we are able to provide focused small group lessons to develop targeted skills.
school selection consultations
Choosing a school for your child can be one of the most stressful decisions that parents make for their family. We want to ensure that you have all the information to make best decision for your child and family as a whole. After a personal consultation, we will do the research for you and provide you with a detailed report comparing schools that you are interested in.
